Steve Dalinis
Steve has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years and is a graduate of the highly acclaimed culinary school at Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island. After graduating, he accepted an internship at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and was the first intern they've ever had. He explained, "Even at a young age, the long hours, lifestyle and working nights and weekends became a grind." That's when he decided to join his father in selling insurance which became a much better career path for Steve. He and his father owned an insurance agency ranked #10 in the nation for a specific niche insurance. Twenty years ago, Steve moved to Reno to join MFG Benefits and has never looked back.
Steve oversees all employer-sponsored and voluntary benefits for clients. He enjoys working with business owners and employees and maintaining a healthy bottom line for both of them. He works to keep the employer's insurance costs and the employee's cost for their portion of the insurance down. Steve admits that insurance is one of those industries where you receive claims that run the gamut.
For Steve, working at MFG Benefits is enjoyable because of the team atmosphere. He and his assistant, Jessica DePaoli, enjoy bouncing ideas off of each other and forming unique relationships with their clients. As all clients have choices when it comes to insurance and benefits, they choose to form proactive client relationships. In fact, in 2019, they hosted 18 BBQs for clients where Steve was able to show off his culinary skills on the grill. As he reaches out to clients monthly, often business ventures turn into friendships.
After 25 years in the industry, what keeps him coming back is helping people out and sharing his knowledge. He cherishes the unique relationships he's established with clients. Some of those clients have been with him for 20 years. As benefits continue to change, and companies continue to evolve, he provides practical knowledge on the best benefit package for a particular business.
He resides in Reno and enjoys being a single father to his son, Sam. They both share a passion for baseball and enjoyed watching his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series in Game 7 in 2016. Since it was the Cubs' first World Series win since 1908, it was a pretty big deal in the Dalinis household. Avid Reno Aces fans, Steve and his son attend many of the games. His son, Sam, always brings along his glove and to date has caught about 20 balls. He is waiting for the next Cubs win.
